Some Tips on Hiring Mariachis

1) Some groups charge per group member, ask how many members their $$ includes.

2) A typical mariachi group consists of 5-9 members; 3 members are a TRIO (not a mariachi group). You may post for trios here, good luck.

3) Youth groups generally charge less, but have a limited repertoire. Please be respectful of professional mariachi groups & do not insult them when they give you their rate.

4) When in doubt ask for a recorded sample, or ask to attend a gig or rehearsal. Most groups are happy to oblige.

5) Good groups have no problem with signing a contract, which means you leave a deposit. It is a binding contract; make sure it specifies minimum players, per hour, time allowed for cancellations both sides), and any specifics you request (specific songs, female members, extra trumpets, color of trajes, break times, etc.,)

6) Organizations may post for free gigs; Good Luck!
